Ordinance on Convicted Lawmakers

Content: On October 10th, 2013, the Supreme Court ruled that an MP or an MLA convicted by a court in a criminal offence would be immediately disqualified. On September 24th, the Union cabinet cleared an ordinance to protect the convicted lawmakers. Following protests from the opposition, clarification from the President and an angry response from Congress MP, Rahul Gandhi, the ordinance was withdrawn by the Cabinet on October 2nd.

Special Officer in charge of nominating two monuments of Kerala - Padmanabhapuram Palace and Edakkal Caves into UNESCO's World Heritage List, at Women's College, Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum, on 2nd August 2013, 2pm to 3.30pm.
