Priya Chabria, poet and novelist will read from her recent anthology of poems titled, ‘Dialogue and other poems', published by the Sahitya Akademi.

As part of the ongoing sessions on youth and issues of gender and sexuality, Samapathik Trust invites you to a screening of Death in Venice at Open Space.

Death in Venice (dir: Luchino Visconti ). Abroad on a rest holiday, composer Gustav Aschenbach is to all the world reserved and civilized. But when he glimpses someone (a 14 year old boy) who inspires him to give way to a secret passion, it foreshadows his doom. Director Luchino Visconti transforms Thomas Mann's classic novel into "a masterwork of power and beauty".

 

RIGHT TO INFORMATION PRESENTATION

 

RIGHT TO INFORMATION, SATURDAY, APRIL 9th, 4pm onwards
The Right to Information Act empowers citizens to demand accountability  from those who have been assigned to govern on behalf of the people. Under the Maharashtra Right to Information Act, 2002, any citizen can demand information from state government departments and public bodies including the Municipal Corporation. Yet, many citizens are still not aware of the modalities of requisitioning information.

Open Space invites you to a presentation by Prakash Kardaley, Senior Editor, Express Initiatives, The Indian Express and documentary screening on the Right to Information Act. The presentation is an introduction to the central Right to Information Bill pending approval of the Parliament, followed by a screening of a documentary film in Marathi about the use of the MRTI act.

The presentation and screening will be followed by discussions moderated by Prakash Kardaley.
